Growth and Decay

This installation was inspired by the Growth and Decay theme of the exhibition as part of my interactive spaces course at the University of Oregon. The visuals in this piece were chosen to depict a warm glow in the flames, which appear to be engulfing the entirety of the 3D sculpture, suggesting decay, death and deterioration. As a part of the projection mapping mechanics, the looping and transitions between the two visuals prompts the viewer to consider the concepts of growth, life and rebirth. This contrast intends to evoke a sense of surrealism as we see the transformation and progression of these two states of existence.
